Atigun is named after the highest mountain pass (4,739ft) in Alaska, Atigun Pass. Located in the Brooks Range, Atigun Pass is where the Dalton Highway crosses the Continental Divide. It is the only pass in the Brooks Range that is crossed by a road. The 414 mile Dalton Highway will take you to the Arctic Circle and on to Prudhoe Bay.
