All pick-ups are done by appointment to be scheduled at the time of booking. Please allow 45 minutes for vehicle orientation and Q & A session to familiarize yourself with the operation of each vehicle.
Scheduled rental pick-ups and drop-offs will be made at 3131 Muldoon Road unless otherwise agreed upon or arranged in advance. Pick-ups and drop-offs (Anchorage area only) are available for a $25 service charge, schedule permitting.
Rental bookings are on a daily basis. Pick up is no earlier than 8 am on the first booked day and returns are no later than 6 pm on the last booked day. We will do our best to be accommodating of special circumstances as we are able, but please plan accordingly. There are no prorated refunds for later pick up or earlier drop off of any rental vehicle.
Additional days may be booked as long as there are no scheduled bookings that would interfere by doing so. Please request any additional days within 24 hours of your rental return date to allow for the possibility of us not being able to accommodate it.
All pick-ups and all returns will need to be made in Anchorage. We do not offer one-way trips or drop-offs. Any vehicles requiring Alaska Overland Adventures to retrieve vehicles outside of Anchorage are subject to retrieval fees of up to $1000.
Vehicle condition and cleanliness at drop-off should be equal to what it was at pick up.

While it may be tempting to take our vehicles or campers in off-road areas (marked or unmarked), along closed roads or attempt water crossings, any such use is strictly prohibited by Alaska Overland Adventures. Our vehicles and campers are intended for use along all public roadways within the State of Alaska. Any border crossings in to Canada is not permitted.
Renters are responsible for any damages to all rental equipment (vehicle, windshield, tires, racks, tents, equipment) as well as any additional expenses incurred from getting stuck, breaking down or resulting from a collision. This includes towing.

All of our rental vehicles and campers include insurance coverage as part of the daily rate. The included insurance cannot be waived or discounted in lieu of providing your own insurance.
Renters are responsible for up to $1000 per occurrence and for any damage occurring during their rental period, over what is covered by insurance.
In the event of a collision, we require the vehicle information, insurance, license, and contact information of all parties involved. Pictures of the damage are helpful if possible. The state of Alaska requires a police report to be filed for all collisions in which damages exceed $500 or an injury occurred. We realize collisions can be extremely stressful and inconvenient. Please contact us as soon as possible. We will do everything we can to help make it less so.
Alaska Overland Adventures makes every effort to make sure its rental vehicles and campers are in tip-top condition. However, a breakdown can happen for many reasons. If there is a non-at-fault mechanical issue that results in not being able to use the vehicle due to it being held overnight at a repair facility, Alaska Overland Adventures will refund that day’s rental charge. If the vehicle cannot be repaired in a timely manner, we will refund the remaining rental charges and assist in getting you to the nearest destination. Any at-fault repairs impeding travel plans will not result in a refund of rental charges.
